A Fresh, Fast, and Flashy Combat System

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight finally arrives on PS5 next year, and the new trailer has ignited the internet. The game introduces a sharp, free-flowing combat system that feels different from older LEGO titles. Batman strikes faster, moves smarter, and switches targets with smooth transitions.

However, as enemy groups grow stronger, even he needs backup. Therefore, the Bat-Family jumps in.

Bat-Family Joins the Fight in Gotham

The campaign brings Detective Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Catwoman into the action. Each character uses unique gadgets and abilities that change how battles unfold.

Robin shows off his acrobatics. Batgirl hacks systems with her hackarang. Nightwing charges in with his battle staff. Moreover, Catwoman uses her feline crew and whip strikes for crowd control.

The cast feels lively and fast, keeping the action dynamic as Gotham falls into chaos.

Classic Villains Return to Challenge Batman

The game packs a massive villain lineup. Players will face The Joker, Ra’s al Ghul, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Bane, Firefly, and others. This creates a wide set of missions, each built around the villain’s personality and style.

Iconic Batmobiles and a Massive LEGO Gotham

Traversal gets a major upgrade. Batman unlocks multiple Batmobiles from Batman (1989), The Dark Knight (2008), The Batman (2022), and Batman: The Animated Series. Other characters also ride their signature vehicles, including Nightwing with his Nightcycle.

The trailer also shows a first look at the Batcave. It features the LEGO giant penny, a suit vault, and detailed nods to films, TV shows, and comics.

100 Suits to Unlock Across the Bat-Family

Legacy of the Dark Knight includes 100 suits and outfits inspired by fan-favorite storylines. These include Zero Year, Bronze Age comics, Batman (1989), and The Batman (2022). Every suit stays faithful to its source, recreated entirely in LEGO.

Launch Details and Early Access

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight releases on May 29, 2026 for PS5. Standard and Deluxe pre-orders both include The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit. Deluxe Edition buyers also get three-day early access starting May 26.
